I will meet with you and (if applicable) your partner before labour. The first meeting is usually used for getting to know each other, to explore and discuss your priorities, any fears or concerns, and to plan how we might best work together.
If you want to breastfeed I will support you to achieve that. I will take a full clinical history. There is many factors that can interfere with your milk supply, We can try to address that from the beginning so you and your baby can have the best start which may include colostrum harvesting.

we can go through all your doubts . In this I can give you
information, tips and techniques to prepare you for breastfeeding and we can
make a plan to address and prevent possible complications.
I like us to keep in touch by phoning and e-mailing on a regular basis to see how things are progressing.
I will recommend you to have following meeting maybe at hospital on the first day after birth and then on 3rd day at your home.
I need you to text me immediately (at any hour of the day!) after you give birth to arrange the second meeting.

In a typical breastfeeding consultation, I will observe a feed and work on position and attachment, do an oral examination of your baby, answer your questions, give you relevant printed evidence-based information and afterwards we give you a full written Consultation Report/Feeding Plan.
